Following the launch of the Government’s G-Cloud initiative, CloudStore, AIMES Grid Services is delighted to announce that it is among the cloud computing suppliers listed on the framework.

Where big technology firms have traditionally dominated government IT contracts, around half of the firms included on CloudStore are SMEs.

The Cabinet Office hopes that this will bring a broader range of suppliers to the public sector market and provide a cheaper, quicker and more transparent way for government organisations to procure cloud services.

Under CloudStore rules, public sector bodies will have the option to use services on a ‘pay as you go’ basis rather than developing their own systems and they will not be tied into lengthy contracts.

Dennis Kehoe, CEO, AIMES Grid Services, said, “CloudStore has the potential to transform the way that public sector bodies on Merseyside procure cloud computing services and this is going to benefit them enormously.

“The significant cost savings and contract flexibility that it opens up will result in a more competitive market and make stories of large, loss-making government IT projects a thing of the past.”

AIMES is listed on the G-Cloud framework as an Infrastructure as a Service supplier. To find out how this could benefit your organisation, contact us
