AIMES passes security audit with flying colours

AIMES Grid Services is pleased to announce that it has been successfully reassessed and re-certified to ISO 27001 standard for its Information Security Management System (ISMS).

AIMES, which was originally granted its ISO 27001 certification in December 2007, was audited by independent certification body, Bureau Veritas, late last year. The company passed the audit with flying colours, receiving no non conformances

Paul Langan, who manages the security team at AIMES and has responsibility for internal processes, said "We take our certification very seriously as it demonstrates to our clients that we are taking good care of their information assets. Being externally audited by an internationally renowned organisation like Bureau Veritas provides an additional layer of confidence."

He continued: "The audit was very rigorous and covered all aspects of our ISMS: risk assessments and controls, internal audits and management review processes, the development and minutes of our security forum, our screening processes, our compliance with legal requirements and senior management's support and strategy."

Richard Spragg, technical director, added: "AIMES data centre services are provided using a number of different models; from simple colocation services through managed servers, to full disaster recovery services using replication and failover technologies.

"For us maintaining our ISO 27001 certification is just as much about running our data centre securely as it is about providing our clients with evidence of our compliance. At AIMES, we continually seek to improve our processes and systems to protect our business and to offer the best possible service to our clients."
